    About Me

'A Smooth Sea Never Made A Skilled Sailor'

I work in a calm, relational way, with a focus on understanding what’s happening beneath the surface rather than rushing to solutions.

People who come to see me are often dealing with anxiety, a sense of disconnection, or the feeling that previous therapy hasn’t quite reached the heart of things. I try to offer a space where it feels possible to slow down, think together, and begin to make sense of what’s going on.

I’m thoughtful, engaged, and direct when it feels helpful. I’m interested in what’s happening for you in the room, as well as the wider patterns in your life.

Clients sometimes say they feel understood quickly, and that this makes it easier to explore things more deeply and carefully.

I’m interested in work that supports lasting change, rather than short-term fixes. That usually means paying attention to the whole person — history, relationships, and the ways you’ve learned to manage difficult experiences.

I came into this work because I believe being genuinely listened to and taken seriously can be transformative. Therapy, for me, is a collaborative process rather than something done to you.

I’m a qualified psychotherapist/hypnotherapist working with adults, offering sessions online and in person.

Qualifications / Memberships: BA (Hons), CHP (NC), NSTT (Associate), CNHC, UKCP (working towards full UKCP registration as an Integrative Psychotherapist).

My aim is to offer a thoughtful, grounded space where people feel safe enough to slow down, reflect, and understand themselves more clearly.

I’m interested in work that goes beyond symptom management and supports meaningful, lasting change — in a way that feels humane and sustainable

I work at a pace that feels respectful and manageable, with an emphasis on safety, trust, and collaboration. Change tends to emerge through understanding, rather than pressure or fixing.

Empowering Change with Open Road Psychotherapy

    Self-Discovery

Some people come to therapy wanting to understand themselves better — their values, patterns, and what really matters to them. This kind of exploration can bring clarity, reduce anxiety, and help you feel more grounded in who you are and how you want to live.

    Mindfulness

We can work with attention, awareness, and the body to help you feel more present and less caught up in anxious or racing thoughts. This often involves learning how to slow things down and relate differently to your inner experience, including your breath and physical sensations.

    Anxiety

Anxiety can show up in many forms - worry, tension, overthinking, or a constant sense of unease. Rather than trying to get rid of it quickly, we work to understand what’s driving it and how it has become established, so it has less hold over you.

    Sleep Issues

Sleep problems can feel exhausting and deeply frustrating, especially when they persist over time. We can explore the thoughts, patterns, and nervous system responses that interfere with rest, helping you move towards a more settled and restorative relationship with sleep.

    Changing Life Circumstances

Life transitions - whether welcome or unwelcome - can be destabilising. Changes in work, relationships, health, or identity often bring uncertainty. Therapy can offer a steady place to reflect, process, and find your footing during these times.

    Neurodivergence

If you’re neurodivergent, or questioning whether you might be, we can explore how this shapes your experience of the world. The focus is on understanding yourself more clearly and working in a way that respects how your mind works.

    Healthy Relationships

Difficulties in relationships often reflect deeper patterns around communication, boundaries, and attachment. We can look at how these patterns developed and how they play out now, supporting healthier and more satisfying ways of relating
